Do
- Hamilton (Capital · harbour town): The compact capital has pastel Front Street, waterfront cafés and ferry links across the islands.
- St George's (East End · UNESCO town): The historic first settlement, full of forts, cobbled alleys and colonial architecture.
- Royal Naval Dockyard (West End · history & cruise port): A mighty 19th-century fortress complex now home to museums, shops and the cruise terminal.
- Horseshoe Bay (South Shore · beach): Bermuda's most famous pink-sand crescent, with smaller hidden coves linked by a coastal path.
- Spittal Pond Nature Reserve (Smith's Parish · nature reserve): Clifftop trails and wetlands for birdwatching, plus the historic carved rock left by early mariners.
- Cooper's Island (St David's · nature reserve): A quiet reserve of beaches and coastal trails, great for spotting migratory birds and sea turtles in the water.
Things to do
- Lounge on a pink-sand beach. Sink your toes into the blush-tinted sand of Horseshoe Bay, coloured by the crushed shells of tiny red sea creatures.
- Walk the Railway Trail. Follow the route of a long-gone island railway past coves, cliffs and gardens on foot or by bike.
- Explore St George's. Wander narrow lanes, the old State House and centuries-old churches in the UNESCO-listed former capital.
- Snorkel a shipwreck. Bermuda's reefs hold hundreds of wrecks, and some lie in shallow, clear water easily reached on a boat trip.
- Visit the Royal Naval Dockyard. Tour the fortified Keep, the maritime museum and craft markets housed in old naval warehouses.
- Climb Gibbs Hill Lighthouse. Spiral up one of the oldest cast-iron lighthouses in the world for a panorama over the Great Sound.
- Descend into a limestone cave. Marvel at crystal-clear underground pools and dripping stalactites in caves near Bailey's Bay.
- Try a fish sandwich. Bite into Bermuda's signature fried fish sandwich on raisin bread, ideally with a dash of local sherry peppers.
